CMC Global assessed the needs and pain points of different stakeholders including management boards, marketing & sales team, and 12+ agencies.  After interviewing, we found a strong familiarity with Microsoft products, making Microsoft Power Apps an ideal solution. Hence, we consulted to develop a web-based platform using Microsoft Power Apps with the following objectives: 
  • Standardized report formats using input files from diverse sources, including emails, Salesforce records, and Excel. 
  • Provided real-time insights through Power BI, charts and visualization tools

Initially, CMCG's Business Analysts (BAs) conducted interviews to understand user needs and behaviors. The banking client aimed to deploy a cloud-native system on AWS with a NoSQL database to manage unstructured data. They needed a flexible architecture to support evolving business needs and a refreshed UI/UX to improve user experience and engagement.

CMC Global Solutions developed a robust, containerized microservices architecture, deploying on AWS with Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and using a Business Process Management (BPM) approach with jBPM and Drools for rule management.   For seamless integration with upstream systems, they implemented Kafka, while the front-end, built with React as a Single Page Application, is hosted on S3.   The backend leverages Java Spring Boot, AWS DocumentDB for database needs, and ElasticSearch for efficient data indexing.   Additionally, Amazon ALB, ECR, SES, and SNS are used for load balancing, container registry, email, and messaging, with security overseen by the client’s dedicated security team.

The project successfully transformed the legacy system by migrating it to AWS, delivering a modernized, user-friendly UI/UX. Solution

The main goal is to provide a solution that is both cost-effective and aligned with the customer’s strategy in data management. Together, we came up with a comprehensive IT strategy choosing AI as the core technology with the belief that it could deliver the IT agility the customer required. Along with that, other fundamental technologies such as DevOps, Back-end (Java), Front-end (VueJS, ReactJS), Mobile (Native Android, iOS & Flutter) were also well-integrated.

Result

Up to now, the client can operate their system smoothly and all of our members have received high satisfaction scores from them. The project has been implemented at many banks in Southeast Asia, like Malaysia and Singapore.

Electronic Health Record (EHR) System Development & Maintenance

Customers' Challenge

Our customer had their own EHR system this time, but it was so outdated that the conventional programming languages made it hard to keep the system functional. Most of EHR's advantages, including higher quality and building materials improvements, went down the drain. According to research, the most common challenges to the adoption of EHR systems (Electronic Health Records) were the cost of purchase (48%), followed by the ongoing cost of maintenance (11%). CMC Global understood the primary issue and provided our customers with the solution.

Solution

CMC Global had to focus on two main goals: meeting all standards and delivering innovative results in a short period of time. We did come up with the following:
  • New modules: The CMC Global team worked closely with clients to develop new modules to automate their medical record process.
  • Training and consulting: Since our customers came from the healthcare industry with specific requirements yet lacked technological expertise, our members frequently visited them to directly observe their existing operating models and understand their needs, thus offering proper consultation.
  • New programming language: Acknowledging the issues, they want to re-develop this module in a new programming language with the expectation that it could be integrated across their entire hospital system and automate the recording of patients' information.
The commitment was the team's top priority since the implementation time was limited to less than a year, with many strict requirements from the customer. The development team consisted of 60 members, with over half of the senior developers having to work at full capacity to develop the system for the customer and kickstart actual implementation.

Final Results

Up to now, the system has been completed to be implemented in hospitals in Korea and has overcome many rounds of customer moderation. CMC Global’s customers are delighted with the contributions from the team and planning to implement the next projects soon.  

Web App Development & System Maintenance

Challenge

Located in the US, the client is one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world. Their needs focused on enhancing the system in manufacturing semiconductor chips with a trusted vendor with long-lasting experience in working with international clients and global projects. The challenge is integrating ease and accountability into its production chain with modern technology to replace its outdated system. The client’s demands include two main points:
  • Financial project: Develop a Web app to support their Account Receivable procedures on their internal Cloud platform. Besides scalability and self-deployment, the new app also needed to include features such as invoice processing, customer communications, forecasting, evaluation, and dispute resolution.
  • Manufacturing project: Work closely with their in-house team to develop, upgrade and maintain the system, apps, and web apps that serve semiconductor research and manufacturing purposes

Solution

Since the framework was Agile development, CMC Global team members needed to work in different time zones. Every member must communicate fluently in English to avoid obstacles when communicating with the customer. In this project, all applications must be developed under microservices models on IBM Cloud, Kubernetes, and Docker. Not stopping at IT outsourcing, the CMC Global team also came up with the idea of developing the app through microservices modules, which helped to modernize, automate, and utilize the customer's cloud platform.

Result

The app has considerably high scalability and flexibility, easy and convenient to adjust. Similarly, the Testing/Deploying activities have also been automated through the CI/CD modules and can also be customized for different projects. One of the key highlights of this project is that our clients received a Stevie Award in 2019 for their sales enablement solution.

Embedded Testing Solution For In-car Driver Applications

Challenge

Our client is a leading company in the automotive industry. They were searching for a reliable vendor with a competitive pricing policy to provide embedded testing solutions for in-car driver applications. At the same time, their requirements demand high product quality in compliance with international standards. To achieve this, they decided to partner up with CMC Global, their most suitable selection.

Solution

Together, we came up with a definite working process for the project and chose C++ as the programming language that is best suited for customer’s requirements. Every week, we conducted virtual interviews via Skype to discuss their needs and improve the team's performance. We helped them detect any defects in software, thereby reducing further risks. Cloud Migration Solution For Online Video Platform

Challenge

Our client is Japan’s top entertainment corporation whose business spreads across the fields of E-commerce and Digital Entertainment. The issue they raised to us is to migrate their entire systems with complicated parts and features to the cloud environment in only 6 months. They want to hire a team of 20 professionals to help them achieve these goals.
  • Deadline rush: Those time-consuming and labor-intensive tasks were further strained by a tight deadline of only 6 months.
  • Complicated tasks:  At that moment, their self-deployed and self-maintained Data Center for system operation contained several shortcomings including high costs and low performance. Therefore, they wanted a solution that could help them migrate the entire system to tackle those drawbacks. The project was complicated because it required the migration of the system as a whole, from servers, databases to front-end and back-end to the cloud, not just a single feature. In addition to system migration, our client also wished to develop new features to meet their business demands such as online product release, SEO and Marketing.

Solution

We found out from the beginning of the project that we would not be able to leverage their system’s infrastructure architecture because one, it was outdated and two, our customer had no previous description documentation. This meant that we have to start from scratch. CMC Global's development team worked together to pinpoint our client's issues as well as provide appropriate consultation. We do this in the first steps by experiencing and learning from the previous operating system. Afterwards, the entire infrastructure architecture was redrawn and reasonable solutions were brought to the client for system migration while ensuring the same latency, without affecting performance. The working stages included: Design -> Review -> Implementation -> Operation -> Improvement During the project, we conducted daily meetings to update the process and made weekly reports to find bugs throughout the deployment process. After a few months, our project team was able to work directly with the business department and was recognized as a valuable consultant for the client. After the process of verifying and implementing new technologies, we deployed those that are suitable for customers' problems such as Cloud Computing, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), AWS Serverless, CI / CD, Java, PHP, VueJS.
After a few months, our project team was able to work directly with the business department and was recognized as a valuable consultant for the client.

Result

1000 Approximately 1000 VMs & services were migrated to AWS. 60% The cost of ownership was reduced by 60% compared to the on-premises system. Operational cost reduced by 20% compared to the previous system.

We worked in partnership with one of the c technology groups in Korea in a multinational project with over 300 people. The client owns a complex logistic platform operating across 65 countries for over 15 years. With such a huge scale, the demand for maintaining the modules of the platforms and developing new features to satisfy their end-users was at an all-time high. Competitiveness in the logistics industry was extremely high and our client’s needed a reliable vendor that could help them tackle those considerable issues in order to expand the system and reduce cost at the same time

Solution

After discovering all their needs and problems, the CMC Global team sat down together to draft up a cost-effective solution to best benefit our client. Since the system was highly complicated and involved a large number of people, we must rapidly build up a dedicated team of over 50 certified engineers with at least 3 years of experience to work on the project. In addition to technical expertise, we required all programmers to have extensive knowledge of the logistics industry to get the gist of industry know-how to develop new features and maintain a complicated system like this. In fact, all project members were required to take a course on logistics and passed a certified examination in a very short period of time before getting onboard. Communication and a unique working culture were also vital key points in this project. Thus,  to ensure everything ran smoothly without any misunderstanding, our team included 3 Korean-speaking comtors to help us coordinate with the customer. To help the client cut down cost and maximize technologies leverage as much as possible, we also proposed creative solutions that incorporated new techs such as Big Data for Supply Chain Planning, AI for Freight Forwarding and IoT for e-Commerce Logistics.

The KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance norms and Anti-Money Laundering have become an urgent necessity for financial institutions after the crisis of 2008. Yet, with the average cost of annual compliance training ranging around $45/hour per staff member and 5 hours of training needed, the trend of eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) is on the rise. In this project, our client is one of the giant international corporations based in China.

Solution

Based on their requirements, our team developed a suitable eKYC solution for the client. Here, the digital process value chain ensured stable and reliable rollout, thereby improving content management and processing time by implementing machine learning, semantic Web technology tools, and natural language processing-based cognitive search. Meanwhile, the procedures still maintain high regulatory adherence.  We use MicroExpression with framework Agile and Scrum to deliver the best quality of services for this project.
