JOB DESCRIPTION 

• Build and own the fulfillment service from the ground up using TypeScript and Node.js
• Design and implement the fulfillment state machine: order received → assigned to station → picking → packing → label printed → shipped → completed, with proper error states and transitions
• Build station management: assigning orders to packing stations, load balancing across stations, handling station capacity
• Implement shipping label generation and logistics partner handoff integrations
• Build the packing station Ul — a dedicated React + Vite frontend used by warehouse staff for scanning, packing, and shipping operations
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas for the fulfillment domain (orders, stations, shipments, audit trails)
• Integrate with the channel integration service via well-defined API contracts and SQS messaging
• Build fulfillment reporting: order throughput, station utilization, packing times, error rates
• Implement structured logging and distributed tracing for full operational visibility
• Participate in on-call rotation for fulfillment and packing operations post go-live

REQUIREMENTS

Must Have 

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js with a modern backend framework
• Experience building workflow or state machine systems – understanding of state transitions, idempotency, and error recovery
• Solid PostgreSQL experience: schema design, migrations, transactional integrity
• Frontend development skills in React (for building the packing station UI)
• Experience with message queues (SQS, SNS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ) and event-driven patterns
• Comfort working with AWS services in a production environment

Nice to Have 

• Experience building warehouse management, logistics, or fulfillment systems
• Experience with barcode scanning, label printing, or hardware integration in web apps
• Familiarity with Vite and modern frontend build tooling
• Experience with Al pair programming tools
• Familiarity with Kubernetes/Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with real-time dashboards and operational
