JOB DESCRIPTION
Work Location: Singapore
Open to: Singapore Citizens and Singapore PR holders.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices using Golang.
- Analyse existing architecture and codebases to understand system behaviour, dependencies, and technical constraints.
- Design and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems.
- Develop RESTful APIs, integrations, and supporting backend services.
- Build and maintain event-driven, asynchronous, and real-time data processing workflows.
- Work with Kafka or other event-streaming platforms for high-volume data processing.
- Work with SQL and PostgreSQL and contribute to query optimisation and data processing.
- Improve system performance, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues effectively.
- Collaborate with DevOps/Infrastructure teams on deployment, monitoring, automation, and observability.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, testing, and engineering best practices.
- Contribute to platform/application modernisation initiatives.
- Work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building production-grade applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with Golang.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Good understanding of concurrency, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Kafka, event streaming, or real-time data processing platforms.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Experience building scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Experience with cloud environments, preferably Azure or AWS.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or similar containerisation/orchestration technologies.
- Understanding of modern software architecture, system design, testing, observability, and
operational practices. - Good communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with time-series databases, such as TimescaleDB.
- Experience with large-scale time-series data processing.
- Experience with Azure Cloud and Kubernetes.
- Experience contributing to application/platform modernisation initiatives.
- Experience in IoT, utilities, energy, mobility, EV charging, or industrial platforms.
- Familiarity with OCPI/OCPP.
- Experience with Datadog, Sentry, or similar observability tools.
- Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools.
