Business Analyst – Manufacturing Systems (The US)

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Working Location: The US

Business Analysis & Requirements Management 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges, business objectives, and improvement opportunities. 
  • Gather, document, analyze, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements. 
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews, discovery sessions, and requirements meetings. 
  • Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional requirements, use cases, user stories, process maps, and workflow documentation. 
  • Ensure requirements are complete, traceable, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT/project teams. 

Manufacturing Process Improvement 

  • Analyze current-state manufacturing and business processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. 
  • Conduct process mapping, gap analysis, and workflow assessments. 
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process optimization. 
  • Recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency, quality, compliance, and user experience. 
  • Support continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives. 
  • Define measurable outcomes and track realized benefits against project objectives. 

Solution Design & Implementation 

  • Work closely with IT teams, software vendors, developers, and project stakeholders to design solutions aligned with business requirements. 
  • Evaluate proposed technology solutions and assess business impacts, risks, dependencies, and operational considerations. 
  • Support new system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives. 
  • Participate in solution and design reviews. 
  • Assist with defining business rules, system workflows, reports, dashboards, data requirements, and functional specifications. 
  • Support deployment planning and production readiness activities. 

Testing & User Acceptance Testing (UAT) 

  • Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies, plans, test cases, and test scenarios. 
  • Coordinate UAT activities with business users and project teams. 
  • Validate that implemented solutions satisfy documented business requirements and acceptance criteria. 
  • Document defects, issues, and gaps identified during testing. 
  • Coordinate with technical teams to support issue resolution and retesting. 

Change Management & User Adoption 

  • Support organizational change initiatives associated with new manufacturing systems, technology solutions, and business processes. 
  • Develop training materials, user guides, process documentation, and communication materials. 
  • Facilitate end-user training and knowledge-transfer sessions. 
  • Support users during system implementations and process transitions. 
  • Gather user feedback and identify opportunities for continuous solution improvement. 
  • Promote successful adoption of new systems, processes, and workflows. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Manufacturing Systems Analyst, or similar role. 
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and/or manufacturing technology systems. 
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM), ERP systems, quality systems, and/or supply chain systems. 
  • Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills. 
  • Experience creating business requirements, functional requirements, process maps, use cases, and user stories. 
  • Experience with process improvement and gap analysis. 
  • Experience supporting system implementation, enhancement, or digital transformation projects. 
  • Experience developing and coordinating UAT. 
  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
