JOB DESCRIPTION 

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services, integration components, and APIs on or around the Backbase platform, ensuring security, scalability, maintainability, and delivery quality.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, API contracts, data mappings, integration flows, estimates, and implementation plans.
• Integrate Backbase with Core Banking, Payment Hub, CRM, eKYC, LOS, IAM, Data Platform, and other banking systems through REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven architecture, message queues, or middleware.
• Participate in architecture, code, and design reviews; enforce coding standards and ensure quality through unit tests, integration tests, static analysis, and defect prevention.
• Diagnose and resolve integration, performance, security, and production issues; conduct root-cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
• Collaborate with DevOps, QA, BA, Solution Architect, and client teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, release readiness, observability, and deployment reliability.
• Produce and maintain technical artifacts, including solution design, API specifications, sequence diagrams, data-mapping documents, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
• For Tech Lead level: lead a backend workstream of 4–8 engineers; plan and prioritize work, review critical pull requests, manage technical risks, mentor team members, and deliver agreed milestones.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5 years of proven experience in backend software development, including enterprise-scale systems and complex system integrations.
• Demonstrable experience delivering, customizing, upgrading, or integrating Backbase in at least one digital-banking project; familiarity with Backbase Engagement Banking Platform, Digital Banking Services, or Backbase Integration is highly valued.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Security, RESTful API design, JSON/XML, Maven or Gradle.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, API lifecycle management, versioning, authentication and authorization, idempotency, error handling, and observability.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems using REST/SOAP, Kafka or equivalent messaging technologies.
• Strong database experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, including SQL analysis, query optimization, and data modeling for integration workloads.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Git, Jenkins/GitLab CI, and CI/CD practices.
• Backbase certification is required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English; able to read and write technical documentation and participate effectively in technical discussions with international stakeholders.
