JOB DESCRIPTION
- Working Location: The US
Private Cellular Engineering & Architecture
- Develop standards, solution architectures, and roadmaps for Private Cellular and Radio infrastructure.
- Design enterprise Private Cellular solutions supporting campus, manufacturing, data center, and remote-site environments.
- Design and deploy Private 4G/5G networks using licensed and/or CBRS spectrum.
- Evaluate technical and economic feasibility of proposed cellular solutions, including cost, functionality, interoperability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with LAN, WAN, WLAN, Security, and architecture teams to ensure cellular solutions integrate effectively with the broader enterprise network.
Private Cellular Deployment & Projects
- Support Private Cellular initiatives from Proof of Concept through production deployment.
- Own and execute small to large strategic and tactical Private Cellular projects.
- Design, test, and implement new Cellular and Radio solutions and POCs.
- Coordinate resources and track project execution for new deployments, upgrades, and expansions.
- Serve as a point of escalation for project execution issues.
- Lead weekly project status meetings and communicate progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.
RF, DAS & Site Engineering
- Conduct and/or coordinate site surveys for Private Cellular and DAS deployments.
- Develop site plans designed to achieve appropriate facility coverage.
- Support Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and cellular signal-boosting solutions.
- Supervise and/or perform onsite installations, maintenance, upgrades, and software enhancements.
- Perform deployment testing, validation, and performance analysis.
- Travel to enterprise sites when required to support deployments, testing, and validation activities.
Network Operations & Troubleshooting
- Serve as an escalation point for operational Cellular and Radio infrastructure issues.
- Troubleshoot cellular, RF, network connectivity, and performance problems.
- Utilize diagnostic and performance analysis tools such as Wireshark and iPerf.
- Monitor cellular systems, proactively identify trouble areas, and perform root cause analysis.
- Work directly with vendors and manufacturer technical support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Support service tickets as required during enterprise cellular deployments.
Change Management & Documentation
- Submit, manage, and track Change Management activities for Cellular and Radio systems.
- Develop and maintain Operational Support Guides, architecture documentation, deployment procedures, and technical standards.
- Document root causes, resolutions, configuration changes, and lessons learned.
- Ensure solutions and deployments follow established enterprise standards and operational processes.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Participate in vendor and technology solution selection.
- Work with manufacturers, carriers, technology partners, and solution providers throughout design and deployment.
- Collaborate with business-facing teams and users to understand cellular connectivity requirements.
- Translate business requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
- Present technical concepts, recommendations, and project updates to management and other stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8-10 years of professional experience in cellular, wireless, network engineering, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Cellular Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and signal-boosting solutions.
- Demonstrated experience designing and deploying Private Cellular Networks, including Private 4G and/or 5G.
- Experience working with licensed and/or CBRS spectrum.
- Strong knowledge of RF technologies and LTE networks.
- Strong understanding of enterprise network technologies and TCP/IP protocols, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and firewalls.
- Strong network and cellular troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience with network analysis and performance tools such as Wireshark, iPerf, or comparable technologies.
- Experience supporting cellular infrastructure deployments, upgrades, and operational environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create and present technical concepts and recommendations to management.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Willingness and ability to learn and evaluate emerging cellular and networking technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or higher-level Cisco certification.
- Extensive experience designing and deploying enterprise Private Cellular Network solutions.
- Experience with Private 5G and CBRS deployments.
- Experience supporting cellular connectivity within manufacturing, industrial, campus, or large enterprise environments.
- Experience integrating Private Cellular infrastructure with enterprise LAN/WAN and security environments.
- Experience working directly with cellular infrastructure vendors and manufacturers.
