JOB DESCRIPTION 

At CMC Global, we’re looking for a Data Engineer to spearhead the development and implementation of our data platform initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully implementing data platforms in on-premise environments, with extensive experience in distributed systems architecture and data engineering technologies. This role requires technical leadership capabilities, deep knowledge of data infrastructure, and excellent communication skills to lead cross-functional teams effectively.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks platform (Spark, Delta Lake, etc)
• Collaborate with Business/Data Analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements
• Implement data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions on Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Optimize performance of data workflows and troubleshoot issues in large-scale distributed systems
• Implement and maintain data quality checks (schema validation, deduplication, enrichment, tagging)
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all data processes.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and contribute to best practices.
• (Senior level) Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and influence architectural decisions

REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related fields
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
• Proficiency in Python/PySpark or Scala for data processing
• Experience with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and their data services
• Experience with data modeling (Star schema) and medallion architecture
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, data lake, and lakehouse architecture
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git. Knowledge with Databricks Asset Bundle is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
• Certifications in Databricks or Cloud platforms are a plus
• Fluency in English (4 skills)
