JOB DESCRIPTION 

• Working Location: The US

Automation Platform Development 

• Develop, enhance, and maintain automation platform features using Python. 
• Support the lead developer with code changes, feature enhancements, debugging, and technical implementation. 
• Develop and maintain automation solutions supporting automotive multimedia systems. 
• Improve the reliability, maintainability, and performance of existing automation tools. 
• Participate in software development activities within an Agile environment. 

Testing, Troubleshooting & Quality Assurance 

• Perform quality assurance, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of automation solutions. 
• Investigate software and platform issues and perform structured root cause analysis. 
• Deliver timely and practical solutions to technical issues. 
• Support automation software used with automotive multimedia head units. 
• Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term improvements. 

Platform & User Support 

• Provide technical support to internal users of automation platforms and tools. 
• Troubleshoot user-reported technical and software issues. 
• Collaborate with users to understand requirements, issues, and opportunities for platform enhancement. 
• Support production and internal automation tools to maintain platform reliability and usability. 

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration 

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve automation tools, workflows, and team productivity. 
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve development efficiency. 
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across automation development, testing, and support. 
• Work proactively with development and engineering teams to improve the overall automation environment. 

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 
• 8+ years of hands-on Python scripting/development experience. 
• Total professional experience should not exceed 10 years. 
• Strong software development, debugging, and troubleshooting capabilities. 
• Experience working within Agile development environments. 
• Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve issues efficiently. 
• Ability to support and enhance existing automation platforms and software. 
• Proactive mindset with a focus on improving tools, processes, and the development environment. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, engineers, users, and other cross-functional stakeholders. 

Preferred Technical Skills 

Development 

• Python – strong hands-on expertise 
• FastAPI 
• Linux 
• React 
• TypeScript 
• Git/version control 
• CI/CD environments 

Automotive & Hardware Integration 

• Hardware control scripting, including I2C, GVIF, and Serial communication 
• In-vehicle network protocols, including CAN, CAN FD, and Ethernet 
• Automotive multimedia/head-unit systems 
• Automated testing for automotive multimedia environments 

Cloud & AI 

• Cloud development experience with GCP and/or AWS 
• Experience building or training AI agents and machine learning models 
• Familiarity with integrating AI capabilities into development or automation workflows 

Additional Experience That Would Be Helpful 

• Previous experience within automotive software development environments. 
• Experience developing or supporting production tools and internal automation platforms. 
• Experience with automated testing frameworks. 
• Exposure to automotive multimedia or infotainment systems. 
• Experience integrating software with physical hardware or embedded systems. 
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, debugging tools, and Git-based development workflows. 
• Experience building or training AI agents or ML models.
