On July 24, 2025, CMC Global Company Limited, in collaboration with the German Business Association (GBA) and Schaeffler, successfully hosted the “AI for Smart Manufacturing: German-Vietnamese Tech Dialogue.” The workshop welcomed 40 engaged participants, including GBA members, manufacturing leaders, and technology experts, who came together to explore how AI can unlock new opportunities for Vietnam’s manufacturing sector.
Despite Vietnam’s strong manufacturing foundation, the sector still faces significant challenges due to fragmented and unstandardized data. The workshop emphasized that Artificial Intelligence holds tremendous potential to address these barriers through practical, incremental solutions.
Participants learned about real-world AI applications such as:
- Forecasting and demand planning,
- Predictive maintenance to reduce costly downtime,
- Using OCR to process large volumes of unstructured data,
- And building centralized data platforms as the backbone for wider automation.
Rather than aiming for massive digital overhauls overnight, speakers encouraged companies to focus on realistic, measurable AI initiatives that deliver clear ROI and pave the way for scalable transformation.

The workshop featured thought-provoking contributions from:
- Dr. Philipp Rösler, former Vice Chancellor of Germany and Senior Partner of CMC Global Company Limited.
- Mr. Cong Pham, Head of Data at CMC Global.
- Mr. Thanh Tuan Vi, GBA Board Member and Vice President SCM & Logistics Asia Pacific at Schaeffler.
Through engaging dialogue sessions, the speakers shared valuable lessons drawn from their extensive hands-on experience in implementing AI and data-driven solutions within leading German and Vietnamese enterprises.
One highlight was the guided tour of CMC’s state-of-the-art Data Center, giving attendees a behind-the-scenes look at how cutting-edge AI and data infrastructure operate in real business contexts.
To wrap up the day, everyone returned to the prestigious Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City for an evening networking cocktail, strengthening connections and sparking future German-Vietnamese collaborations.
