JOB DESCRIPTION 

• Design, build, and operate ETL/Data Pipelines on AWS to support large-scale data processing for Banking and Financial Services projects.
• Develop data processing frameworks using core AWS services, including S3, Glue, Glue Data Catalog, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, and DynamoDB, with integration to Databricks when applicable.
• Process, transform, and optimize large datasets using PySpark and SQL, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability for downstream systems (BI, Analytics, ML).
• Continuously tune and optimize data pipelines and code performance to handle high data volumes efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Work closely with Data Analysts, Business Analysts, QA, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks; propose and implement improvements.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security standards, and best practices required in Banking environments.

REQUIREMENTS

Core Skills (Must-have)

• 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/Data Pipelines on AWS, including:
  • IAM (roles, policies – basic to intermediate level)
  • S3, AWS Glue, Glue Data Catalog
  • Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge
  • DynamoDB
• Strong proficiency in SQL and PySpark, with practical experience processing large-scale datasets.
• Solid understanding of end-to-end data pipelines: data ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption.
• Strong optimization mindset: ability to tune performance, improve processing efficiency, and manage resource usage.
• Careful, logical working style with a strong focus on data accuracy and stability.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Databricks on AWS.
• Previous exposure to Banking / Financial Services or other data-sensitive domains.
• Knowledge of data quality checks, validation, or data governance is a plus.
