JOB DESCRIPTION 

CMC Global is seeking an experienced Head of AI to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of AI/ML initiatives across the organization. This role will own the AI vision, build AI engineering capabilities, ensure successful delivery of AI-powered solutions, and work closely with business leaders, clients, and engineering teams to drive large-scale AI transformation.

This position requires deep expertise in AI/ML systems, hands-on leadership in building AI teams, and proven experience delivering enterprise-grade AI solutions (Generative AI, LLMs, ML/DL, MLOps, Data Platforms).

Key Responsibilities

A. AI Strategy & Leadership

• Define and own the AI strategy, roadmap, and innovation initiatives aligned with company objectives.
• Identify strategic AI opportunities for new products, services, and internal efficiency improvements.
• Build and scale the AI Division, including AI engineering, data science, MLOps, and AI delivery teams.
• Evangelize AI adoption across internal business units and with external enterprise clients.

B. AI Solution Architecture & Delivery

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of AI projects: requirement analysis, solution design, model development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Provide technical leadership in AI/ML/LLM architecture, data pipelines, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.
• Ensure AI solutions meet enterprise standards for security, scalability, and performance.
• Act as the highest-level technical escalation point for AI delivery.

C. AI Engineering & Technical Excellence

• Guide development of advanced AI/ML models using Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, and other frameworks.
• Lead implementation of MLOps practices (CI/CD for ML, model governance, MLflow, feature stores).
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to ensure robust data foundation for AI solutions.

D. Business & Client Engagement

• Work closely with Sales/Presales to shape AI proposals, solution approaches, and RFP responses.
• Engage directly with global clients to understand business challenges and propose AI-driven solutions.
• Present AI strategy, insights, and project progress to senior stakeholders & executive boards.

E. Team Management & Operations

• Manage KPIs of AI Delivery unit: billability, utilization, project profitability, delivery quality.
• Mentor, train, and grow AI talents—including Data Scientists, ML Engineers, MLOps Engineers, and AI SMEs.
• Optimize workflows, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and quality across AI delivery.

REQUIREMENTS

Must-have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Engineering, or related fields.
• 8+ years in software development & data/AI engineering.
• 5+ years in AI leadership roles (~ Head/Director/Lead), managing teams of 20–40+ members.
• Hands-on experience building and delivering production-grade AI/ML/LLM systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, data platforms, cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Proficient in Python, ML/DL frameworks, big data tools (Spark, Kafka), and MLOps toolchain.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Ability to influence senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Generative AI, LLM fine-tuning, RAG, vector databases.
• Experience working with global enterprise clients.
• Certifications: Azure AI Engineer, AWS ML Specialty, GCP ML Engineer, PMP/Agile is a plus.
