On August 15th, CMC Global welcomed H.E. Ms. Gillian Bird PSM, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, and her delegation to CMC Tower in Hanoi. During the meeting, led by CMC Chairman Nguyen Trung Chinh, both sides explored key collaboration opportunities in ICT, telecommunications, AI, research, and education.

A major highlight was the discussion on CMC’s $250M Hyperscale Data Center (DC) in Ho Chi Minh City, which is poised to become the city’s “AI core.” Notably, Ambassador Gillian Bird expressed strong interest in the project’s sustainability efforts, particularly its use of renewable energy and compliance with modern Green DC standards, a priority for the Australian government.

Furthermore, CMC reaffirmed Australia as a strategic market, detailing its recent expansion efforts, including:

  • Joining as an active AusCham member (January 2025);

  • Collaborating closely with Austrade to provide tailored IT and digital solutions for Australian businesses.

Both parties also discussed potential synergies in CMC’s AI-X and Go Global initiatives, which aim to position Vietnam as a leading AI hub in the region. To conclude the visit, the delegation toured CMC Data Center, a critical infrastructure player in digital and AI transformation.

Ultimately, this high-level engagement strengthened bilateral ties, paving the way for deeper cooperation between Australian enterprises and CMC in technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
