JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Cloud Engineer supports the Engineering Manager and the wider engineering team to ensure the reliability and performance of the systems. They will help the team to think long-term about how to support sustainable growth of those systems and uplift the infrastructure skills of the wider
team.

• Manage the infrastructure and tools necessary for large-scale data processing and analysis in cloud environments.
• Establish a process and tools to ensure database changes (schema, tables, data) undergo formal change control.
• Maintain and update databases, data warehousing, and ETL (extract, transform, load) processes according to the product roadmap.
• Collaborate with the team to enable data-driven decision-making by ensuring data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for performance

REQUIREMENTS

• Essential
  ● Ability to deal with ambiguity and proposing solution to stakeholders
  ● Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Buildkite, Samson)
  ● SQL Database management (in Aurora a bonus)
  ● Linux administration
  ● Experience with AWS
  ● Experience with Cloudformation, Terraform
  ● Experience with tools including Datadog, Rollbar and Sumologic
  ● Experience in configuring and management of replication across DB clusters
  ● Experience in management of large data (bulk, partitioning, query optimisation)
  ● Have experience in ETL/ELT of data within OLTP DBs, DBAs is a plus
  ● Supporting a large web-based application with global traffic
• Preferred
  ● Experience with CloudFlare
  ● Experience with Okta
  ● Experience in other agile environments
  ● Application development experience
  ● Security and Risk identification, assessment and mitigation
  ● Has built self-healing systems
  ● Has measurably improved the resilience of systems
  ● The ability to provide security and risk assessment and actions for a large e-Commerce sit
